Ingredients
  

  • 2 large Honeycrisp apples or Fuji/Gala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon apple pie spice optional
  • Cooking spray optional, very light

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer Basket or oven-style
  • 1 Mandoline Slicer For evenly thin apple slices
  • 1 Cutting Board For slicing apples
  • 1 Sharp Knife If not using a mandoline
  • 1 Cooling Rack Helps chips crisp after cooking

Method
 

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the apples.Slice the apples into ⅛-inch thin rounds, removing any seeds.Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping.Lightly sprinkle both sides with cinnamon and apple pie spice if using.Air fry at 300°F (150°C) for 8 minutes.Flip each apple slice carefully.Continue cooking for another 6–8 minutes, checking frequently near the end.Remove the apple slices and let them cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. They will continue to crisp as they cool.Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

  • Use sweet, crisp apples like Honeycrisp or Fuji.
  • Don't overlap the slices in the air fryer basket.
  • Chips continue to crisp while cooling.
  • Cooking time may vary depending on apple thickness.
