Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: ¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.Fold in the chocolate chips and optional nuts.Line the air fryer basket with air fryer-safe parchment paper.Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the parchment, leaving space between each cookie.Air fry at 320°F (160°C) for 7–8 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.Let the cookies cool in the basket for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket.
  • Bake in batches if necessary.
  • Use room-temperature butter for easier mixing.
  • Chill the dough for 15 minutes if it's too soft.
  • Store cooled cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
    Slightly underbake the cookies—they'll continue to set as they cool, giving you a soft and chewy center.
